Jamie D. Weisman, MD
Jamie D. Weisman, MD grew up in Atlanta, graduated with honors from Riverwood High School and went on to attend Brown University. At Brown, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English literature and graduated magna cum laude with honors. She received a fellowship to study in Cairo, Egypt at the American University in Cairo, and then came home to attend Emory University Medical School. Dr. Weisman stayed at Emory to complete her internship and residency in dermatology. A writer as well as a physician, she is the author of the memoir, As I Live and Breathe: Notes of a Patient-Doctor. She has also published articles or been profiled in Life, Glamour, O magazine, National Public Radio and the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Weisman has participated in numerous clinical trials and has lectured on the treatment of psoriasis. Her areas of interest include not only the treatment of psoriasis but also auto-immune skin diseases, as well as general medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, including Botox®, fillers and laser therapy.
Patricia Oyetakin, MD
Dr. Patricia Oyetakin joined Medical Dermatology Specialists, PC in August 2023. She was born in Lagos, Nigeria and immigrated to Canada at 13 years old. She received her Bachelor of Medical Science with honors from The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. In pursuit of a medical career, she moved to Detroit, Michigan where she received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine internship at St. John’s Hospitals in Grosse Pointe. Prior to dermatology residency training at Case Western University/University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Oyetakin completed a two-year clinical and translational research fellowship in the same department. She participated in psoriasis, cutaneous lupus and lymphoma clinical trials.
Dr. Oyetakin has co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters. She practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology across all skin types with special interests in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), acne and pigmentary disorders affecting skin of color patients. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and also licensed to practice in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Oyetakin and her family recently relocated to Georgia and she is excited to provide high quality dermatology care to the region. Her core values and beliefs are rooted in her faith, love for her family, and humanity. Drawing from her vast medical education, Dr. Oyetakin expertly applies scientific principles to understand skincare and the cultural and environmental factors that affect skin health. Her comprehensive approach ensures that each patient receives personalized care that addresses their individual needs.

Dorothy Fernandez, MD
Dr. Dorothy Fernandez is a board-certified dermatologist whose priority is her patients’ well-being. She has expertise in a broad range of medical and surgical dermatology therapies, treating both adults and children. She is passionate about the prevention, early detection, and treatment of skin cancer as well as other disorders of the skin, such as warts, acne, atopic dermatitis (eczema), hidradenitis suppurativa, and psoriasis. Having completed her dermatology residency at a very busy public hospital in Chicago that is regarded as a top teaching hospital for its diverse pathology and patient base, Dr. Fernandez is an expert in all skin types and ethnicities.
Dr. Dorothy Fernandez is committed to excellent patient care and treats her patients with the latest innovative therapies and treatment regimens. With a keen interest in the field, Dr. Fernandez has authored and published work for the top dermatology journals and has presented her work at both local and national meetings.
An Atlantan native, Dr. Dorothy Fernandez returned to her hometown to join the Medical Dermatology Specialists in September 2024. Dr. Fernandez worked in private practice in New York City and St. Louis prior to returning to Atlanta.

Rakshni Kokilakumar, PA-C
Rakshni Kokilakumar was born in Sri Lanka before moving to Alpharetta, Georgia as a young child. She attended Georgia State University right here in Atlanta for both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. After completing these degrees, she worked as a medical assistant for four years at a dermatology office before deciding to go back school. Rakshni then attended a Physican Assistant program at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York where she excelled and became well-versed on complex dermatologic concerns. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the treatment of Hidradenitis and Alopecia and is a member of the non-profit Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants association. When she’s not changing lives, she enjoys spending lots of time with her family, particularly her one-year-old nephew!
