Actinic Keratoses

Actinic keratoses develops over many years of sun exposure and shows up on the skin as a scaly patch. It is most commonly found on the face, ears, lips, neck, arms, hands, and scalp, as these are all areas that receive the most sun exposure. Actinic keratoses shows up on an area and then slowly enlarges over years. These areas are often referred to as “sun spots,” though they are different from the darkened spots that can also appear on the face. Many people feel very self-conscious about these scaly skin patches and wish to have them treated.
